Well, Friends its pretty long story but i love to share the same way,if u do have patience, just go ahead and read.....
It was in the month of June 2007 , I decided to go for a bike ..
but the question which daunted me the most was
" Which bike To with ?",whether to settle down with
a 100 cc bike which gives lott'sa mileage or go with a Hunky-Funky Dude Bike(150 cc) ,
the 1st thing which struck my mind was to read the reviews on the internet rather taking the Live Suggestions and reviews from the people around...
It was in the 3rd week of june,dunno y i felt TVS Victor GLX will be the best for me coz it gives pretty good mileage and the looks were not that bad,so had been to the TVS show room came to know that TVS Apache RTR 160 was on the way to release........
gave a thought and decided to go with 150 cc + bike itself...
coz.. I am Built with few extra pounds on...and that makes me look "huge "
(Not that huge tho :-) lol!!! )
Took lots of test rides but didnt know which to choose..
Pulsar was pretty coolest , has good power,looks, not a bad mileage for that power,pulsar is king in the speed comparing other 150 cc bikes in the category, the new model was the only available and heard lots of negative responses and reviews from the owners on net and even heard it from my friends....
latter just popped the thought of going with Pulsar....
Honda Unicorn.... 1st thing when i saw it.. made me feel it to
say "Complete sucking scrap " its good for nothing... no looks, not many bikes on
road, Only Uncles ride it.... neither tot of taking a test ride nor the quotation....
Apache was on the way and its release date was coming nearer, But one thing worried me ..
thats the mileage "How pathetic would be the mileage.. 160 cc with lots of power would not give
more than 45 km/l"
After thinking a lot a lot .. decided to go with 125 cc bike ,which is neither packed with high mileage nor with bad power,,,,,
All of a sudden Bajaj XCD got lauched ... i even made the booking by paying just 100 bucks(was
wondering how did they made booking for such a small amt)...
i went on the test ride... My friend who had came along with me said it looks as though i was riding a bicycle...and ya it was almost a bicycle , it looked just with all its body built with plastic, making like the son or half brother of the "Pulsar"it lighter , YAK. it really sUcks...!!
Still compromised and was planning to get the delivery with in a month or so.,,,
As usual I browsed the net for reviews and seemed it had a very positive stuffs to say about
....................Suddenly From no where else i read about "TVS Flame" ... well .. it generated lotss'a
interest in me... and tried googling it for more info......................
Belive it or not it was "Love at first Sight "(just an infatuation as in case u see a hot chick he he :-))
even though i had not seen the bike in real ... but had seen the pics ,videos on net and even saw it on couple of news channels...was really fantasised by its CCVTI - twin spark plug,
self start, digital meter , delta edge tech, disc brakes and plus packed with more power tooo plus mileage.... These all would come with just a couple of thousand bugs price tag above the XCD,..........
So decided if its bike then it the only "TVS Flame " and nothing else
The wait was on... Heard lots of controversies about the Bajaj suing them for copyright
infringement.... but i never gave up thinking these are all part of the business gimics and

it was almost
December... good news came that TVS flame got released in Chennai.. and so was expecting it soon in my city....
December passed on............. The new year passed ......................
.. but i never gave up ... kept lots of hopes ......
used to always browse checking out the court decisions ,letting the TVS to launch it.......... but the
good NEWS never came up......
Jan ended, it was the beginning of Feb , tHOught it was almost 7 months since i started looking for a bike , now its time to give up finally.......
Again as a daily routine started reading the reviews on MouthShut.com ,Vicky's blog, rearset blog,,, and lot many..... had decided to go with 150 cc now,,
I Was in situation of " Blank " ........... its like u r to choose the Cutest Girl among the Bunch of cutest ............ :-) he he... (atleast we can pick the girls without much tot but not the bike ;-)
By this time BELIVE IT Or Not ,atleast i haD read 5000+ online bike reviews BUt it was really hard to end up with any conclusion.........
Found that each and every bike had its own advantages and disadvantages........................
so i could go for any .....
Finally for the last time i visited almost all the showrooms , trying to understand the specifications in precise , and test riding it...............................
on the way even i tried The So Called hERO hONDA "Hunk" Shit scrap i felt... its like the body of a Girl...!! with 36-24-36 .. he he.. got it..??!! lol! the shape Sucks...!!!
" Hey Dude DO You ride Hunk...? " .... sounds odd even to hear that....
The last bike i went on Test Ride was Honda- Unicorn ............... uhh..!!!!!!!
wow!!!!! The test ride was amazing ........... I Can call it the Best... Soundless engine, tho not power full and Hunky Funky as CBZ,Hunk, or pulsar,,,,,
dunooo y i completely Fell for Her(Unicorn)....even came to know from my friends it mileage's the best in the 150 cc category.............. and i took my friends bike for test ride.... almost
reached 105 km/hr the engine remained almost silent (felt vibrations .. but far better than any other bikes)
Read lots of loads and loads reviews about Unicorn and
"FiNa11Y" said "yeaH sHE is the DAMN gIRL wH0M i WAs LoOk1NG fOR..."
Ya it's the same bike which i commented saying "its completely sucking scrap"
it may no be good with looks but the quality is.....(beauty is not the only concern... he he:-) ... same thing applies to bike)
iT wAS coIncidence that i booked my "uNIcorn" on FEB 14TH
(Valentines Day huh! ...he he :-) )could have got the delivery on the same day but
decided to take it on Monday 18th Feb.....
Monday i bunked my college and went to the show room... the show room guy took me to the Go-down and he showed my bike... was really amazed and excited to go on ride ....
but couldn't..........
I got my bike the same evening after the registration and all blah blah stuff's......
was really happy having selected the BEST bIKE.......
The story Has not ended yet............
.But..
.but. ..
Its Just thE bEGinning... still a VEry long , Pleasant journey with my new Girl Friend(Unicorn) is ON........................... wish me.... :-).... he :-)
I will write about ride experiences, mileage , problems if any,,,and more more stuffs
just after my Bike's First Service........... for now i think its giving 55 km/l ....
i am not sure coz i filled the whole tank on the day of purchase..... ride is very smooth(butter soft), the only problem i am facing is with the gears..
i am still new to ride and never had ridden the bike much and i am unable to put right gears at proper intervals and my engine gets OFF in heavy traffic........
One serious tip from me.....is "Never Ever Apply Breaks in during turns "
i ridden other bikes too but unicorn is only which slips of during turns..
unicorn is the only bike which can tilt max but braking at turns......... really dangerous.!!! Avoid it.
